Remembering Sunday
By ALL TIME LOW

He woke up from dreaming and put on his shoes
Started making his way past 2 in the morning
He hasn't been sober for days

Leaning now into the breeze
Remembering Sunday, he falls to his knees
They had breakfast together
But two eggs don't last
Like the feeling of what he needs

Now this place seems familiar to him
She pulled on his hand with a devilish grin
She led him upstairs, she led him upstairs
Left him dying to get in

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

Even though she doesn't believe in love,
He's determined to call her bluff
Who could deny these butterflies?
They're filling his gut

Waking the neighbors, unfamiliar faces
He pleads though he tries
But he's only denied
Now he's dying to get inside

Forgive me, I'm trying to find
My calling, I'm calling at night
I don't mean to be a bother,
But have you seen this girl?
She's been running through my dreams
And it's driving me crazy, it seems
I'm going to ask her to marry me

The neighbors said she moved away
Funny how it rained all day
I didn't think much of it then
But it's starting to all make sense
Oh, I can see now that all of these clouds
Are following me in my desperate endeavor
To find my whoever, wherever she may be

[Juliet Simms:]
I'm not coming back (forgive me)
I've done something so terrible
I'm terrified to speak (I'm not calling, I'm not calling)
But you'd expect that from me
I'm mixed up, I'll be blunt, now the rain is just (You're driving me crazy, I'm)
Washing you out of my hair and out of my mind
Keeping an eye on the world,
From so many thousands of feet off the ground, I'm over you now
I'm at home in the clouds, and towering over your head

[Alex Gaskarth:]
Well I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home now...
I guess I'll go home

Posting results are out today, 8am. I'll probably fall asleep sooner or later even though i'm shaking with anxiety cos i'm exhausted from the past few days of activity.
Yesterday yesterday. Jenn, Martha and I made our trip to the airport at 6am to send Rebecca off. We ate a hearty Macs Breakfast with her before bidding farewell. We do a little time wasting cos we only had plans at 12pm. So we play hide and seek. Not that thrilling when you've got to walk from one end of the airport to the other. However, bookstores are good and comfortable places to hide in. Phones are good weapons in a game of hide and go seek. Making a 'short' stop at Jenn's before rendezvousing at Jurong Point with Naimah. Traveling can be a real chore. But more was in store when we arrive late for visitations at Jia Ying's. Much of my favourite peeps were there apart from a few. It was very fun. Deuce Bigalow Male Gigolo on the flat screen is fantastically amusing. Jia Ying played a gregarious host. Puffy was there too! The final pit stop, before heading home, on Jenn and my list was Si Min's. Amusingly, she had to call it quits and we regroup with the rest instead for dinner at Secret Recipe. Much cam whoring was achieved with oreo cheesecake slices to tantalize your taste buds.
Yesterday, just one. I was allowed to wake up later than the previous day. Thankfully. School was as busy as ever, but i arrived during lesson periods and managed to avoid the crowd. Yamunna, Tony and Jennifer were in the English Resource Room (never knew there was one, till today.), already completed the task of sorting out heaps of English and Literature papers according to dates in dusty ring files, assigned to them by Ms Manjit. She treated us (not that I helped much) to pizza. 2-for-1 that is. Really filling but delicious 2-for-1 Hawaiian and some other spicy Singapore special, i think. Thanks a lot Ms Manjit! :) I pop by at my Grand's to wish Po Po a Happy Birthday!. Having canceling on us late the day before, Si Min asked us to come over in the afternoon. Bell seems bigger than Kimchi or Udon! But if i surgically joined both my food named cats together? Muahahaha. It'll be larger than Bell alright! Clement came by with the famous hokkien mee which Neil claims to be the BEST but having it da baoed and slugging in its packet for an hour doesn't quite make it a good eating experience. Heh. Si Min's family and us have dinner together at Swensen's. The three of us, being really full from our intense lunch, only order a side dish of soup and a pan-fried dessert.
Like I said, I AM pretty tired. There's Chinese Tuition at 1pm today. :/

Damn you frigging emo blog songs!
Now i'm feeling the emptiness inside. I miss all those school days! Friends! You like see them everyday and now that we've got our own seperate ways to i'm suffering withdrawal syndromes! PE lessons were awesome. Lab pracs were to die for. Literally. With Josh as your lab mate, ANYTHING can go wrong cos he'll make it happen. But you kinda miss those hazardous days. Just plain old inattentiveness and note passing during class would be a bliss to do right now. Movie talk with Serene. Crazy cheesey conversations with Neil and others. Perverse Nick Yeo. Haha. Meaningful chats with Jenn, Si Min, Naimah and others. Emceeing with Amanda! Retarded Jin, Jon, Clement, Nich and Alvin. Moments shared. URGH. Even Chinese Tuition at Serene's seems good. All those school functions! Like Grad Night! Prom! Camps! National Day! What more have you? The Student Council! I want to relive those experiences again! NOW! I don't want to go to a different school!
I fucking hate this.
Let me sit for the O's again with you guys! I'll do it. Period.

Come with me, and together we shall assemble a time machine! Yippee!

Alrighty!
We're finally into the New Year, so believed by us Chinese folk. The Chinese New Year. The time of year where all things red are good and if you go dark and dull you'll probably be dubbed as inauspicious.
Other ways to lure in good fortune is Spring Cleaning! (But its always summer in Singapore.) I tried my best to clear my unbelievably cluttered table. Being only half complete with no more time left cos we're already in to the C new year. So I cheat, and leave the rest for tomorrow. I mean today. Later today. But you always go visiting on Chu Yi (first day of the chinese new year), so i can predict a very angry traditional Dad dragging me awake to finish the rest of the mess i've caused on my table. URGH. There's just so much garbage. Pieces of paper and useless notes. Text books i don't even know what to do with. Sentimental stuff i don't quite have space for and not sure if I should keep them even thought they bring me back to such good memories.
I'm also going to try to hold a visitation for my friends. But it's probably going to turn out more hang out-ish, just with the good ol' tea and mandarin oranges and snacks.
Ang baos aside, i'll be going red from frustration this chinese new year. But i guess thats pretty auspicious too.

Older Bro is finally home after 2 weeks of NS. Its just a short break for the CNY celebrations before he goes off again. He gave me a shaver. Lol. Gillette Fusion. They gave it to him for free at the camp but he already had one.

Stayed home for most of the day, yesterday. Serene came over. Couldn't watch Sin City or Pulp Fiction cos my DVD player en't multi-region and it lagged on my laptop. :/ So I made her watch Speed Racer instead, in exchange of watching the entire season of Spaced (20 epis, right?). I didn't get goosebumps at the Grand Prix (pronounced: Gr-un-d Preee)! Nooo! Have I watched it to many times or is it cos Serene didn't have it either?
We baked later with my Sis and Younger Bro  for his Birthday cake. I ALMOST ruined my sister's muffins but the mistake was covered up with the chocolate icing. She let me decorate part of it as well. Heh.

Combined Practice was OKAY. We played Imitation. But also Love Song, which I did not. I don't even know where to go in. Haha. It's a song which just consist of vocals and keyboard. Oh well I guess I need practice.

Ran (literally) to Tiong Barhu Plaza later to have dinner at a Japanese Diner with the family. Really good raw salmon. Or maybe I was just hungry. I got Yuqiang a ball pump. Cake cutting was done at home. Fell asleep on Star Wars.

Fried Mars Bars Balls at CHIPPY. Indescribable chewy chocolaty goodness! Thanks Gina for the intro! :]
Jennifer, Amanda, Yamunna, Jia Ying, Gina and (came later) Charmaine.
Carl's Jr fresh cut fries (like i've craved for). But i bought the Beef Chilli Cheese Fries. They got soggy after a while and weren't as crunchy and delicious. :/
Charades! Ridiculous charades however very wholesome and fun.
Caught up with Mum and Sis later.
Now going to Coronation to get cake supplies for baking tomorrow for the lil' dude and boyfriend.

And we're skating, just as fast as we can
And we're racing, to out run the wind
It's just me and you and you and me
So wild and so young, bright-eyed and free
[Driving (Autobahn)- Anberlin]

Thats the word of the day. 'Skating'. Following it would be 'Swimming'.
The pool and Faber Crest has been one of the hot locations for the past 2 days.
Jennifer, Rebecca and Amanda.
Thanks Amanda for letting us come over and swim. Much appreciated for lending me your skates too. Our feet sizes aren't too far different. Thankfully.
Thank you Jenn and Reb for inviting me to tag along in what was one of the most exciting moments of my life so far.
Skating from Amanda's to West Coast was really fun. Dangerous. But fun.
Swimming was great too. Who says you need swimwear? Heh.
Failed attempt for a three person shoulder tower stacking. :/

Changeling.
It's a really good movie! Clint Eastwood is pretty much the whole whopping movie package- he acts, produces, directs and even composes movie scores. Angelina Jolie delivers a phenomenal performance as a mother, Christine Collins, desperately looking for her missing child, Walter. A touching film but yet keeps you at the edge of your seat with its deceiving plot. Drama at its finest. The true story of a missing child in the 20s and a mother's perseverance against the people who claim to have found him, the LAPD. This movie is really entertaining, it's worth the watch!

Jenn liked it too. Yay! Even though she had a bad impression of it at first. Tried to make Yamunna go but she had to pay her bills and look for a post office. Haha.

Combine pract was kinda slack. We didn't know which song the play. Imitation or Hallelujah or Love Song or Love Story. Some of us were switching bands. We had to walk back to TBP cos we didn't flag for the bus and it just drove away. Jenn steals my shoe, she forms a kung fu duo with Amanda, Amanda shows off her ass slapping skills, jay walking. I guess it was fun but wasn't quite in the mood. Ate at Mos Burger. Took the MRT. Stopped at Commonwealth with Charmaine. Took 970 home.

Mario passed away today. It seemed like a peaceful passing. I buried it in the garden. Poor little guy. :'(

I sent in my list of school choices 10 minutes before the deadline. I wanted to use as much time as i can thinking about the order of my choices. I'll probably get into NYJC cos its before CJC and thats before JJC. Amanda and Josh put JJ as their 1st choice. We were suppose to go to the same school together but its so inconvenient for me to travel there and back everyday and my family strongly discourages the idea. ARGH. It's one of those shitty choices you have to make in life. But if i do happen  get in to JJ then YAY! :D

Z2H was really great. Met up with Josh, Jin and Amanda earlier at Tiong Bahru Plaza for dinner. Rebecca turned up with Jenn for practice. She was a big help, sitting by the speakers listening to how well i perform. Haha. Thanks! But probably it was a earful! However we too received the same deafening treatment when Josh plays the drums. Urgh. He's up to beat, maybe slightly to fast but he really slams the drums. It was really loud. But it made him feel better so oh well. Our suffering for his benefit. Heh.
Amanda was as usual, good. Jenn, the flexible reliable spine of the song. Han wee, getting really better. Rayney's solo is getting fine tuned. Nich, always the humble but always present bassist.
Midway party is tomorrow evening. Grading the day after. Whooo! I think we're ready for the big league! Haha.

Remember this little pup, Jessie? :D
You always did like your chocolate didn't you?
Prom Night!
That was an awesome day. Freaky ride though.
Graduation Day!
Jelita Jelita! We hang out there a lot don't we?

I managed to reach Changi Airport at 5.25pm. 5 mins before Jessie has to go to her gate. She's probably in the plane now half way in her journey to London. Man, i'm missing you Jessie!

Okay, so what now?
How does this ridiculous education system work?

Just a couple more hours till we experience another life changing event.
It wouldn't be so damn scary if our whole course of life depended on it so much.
Urgh.
Good luck everyone.

Enlistment. Pasir Ris Commando Camp.
Just us kids.
Here's what happens when you see a pool slide! :D
Dinner after the swim. Really good chinese food at Raja.
Madness! Correction, fun-filled madness!
I looked delusional.

The family. The pool.

Cheer up Amanda!

Here are some photos of photos from the photo albums my Grandma showed my sister and I when we went over yesterday. They're so cool!
My parent's wedding. Aunty Geok Kee hugs my Dad. Apparently, she mostly took care of him while he was just a toddler. Perhaps thats why she's the closest of the sisters. (In the literal sense in the photo as well.) His other sisters in the background. They look so happy and young. Wanted to put the photo with my Dad and Mum kissing but I changed my mind.
My Mum and her sisters! Really old IC photos. They look like photocopies at first glance. Grandma sewed their blouses. She's real good at that. Mum picked up her skills as well. My Mum is the centre one. Aunty Sylvia on the left and Aunty Cynthia right.
Grandma and her daughters. Its black and white! They're so small. Most of the clothes homemade back then.
The three of us. Bro, me and Sis. Bro's serving NS now. First day. The camp was cool.
Mum and I. Taken at my Grand's old apartment, I think. All so long ago.
Me!
Aunty Cynthia and I! She's living in the UK now. I think my hair looks better in the photo than my current predicament.
Grandpa and I! His mighty chin chin! :D

Man, these photos make you realise how much time passes so quickly. Slipping through our fingers. All the stuff that happened even if you were there or not. It's nostalgic in a way. :'(

Thats all.
"Come one Nancy Drew! We've got a baby to sit!" (Random crap. I just needed an excuse to put her name down.)

Amanda cheer up and start feeling better!

I had a dream.
More like a nightmare.
While I was sleeping in my comfy Hilton hotel room on the floor cushioned with blankets, I dreamt. I dreamt that I received my O level results. And the points were more than 10. And I wept. Seriously. I think I did it subconsciously too! I think. It was quite scary. And depressing.
Joshua's going of to Sarawak today. Funny eh? I leave, he arrives?
Mum's watching Sweeney Todd now. My 4th time? I'm starting to like Mrs Lovett's Pies and Mr Todd's bloody shaves.
I saw The Spirit! In Kuching. Star Cineplex. But its pretty rundown. The theatre, not the movie. My brother sat on a seat and it broke apart! The movie was sad. Sad being that it failed to live up to my expectations. It was dark and dialogues slurred, although the discolouration was their intent. But i still enjoyed the movie, I guess. Really much cos of Samuel L Jackson's performance as the Octopus! Also with the really sexy and strong actress ensemble. Wheee! Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson)! Sandy Saref (Eva Mendes)! Ellen Dollan (Sarah Paulson). Lorelei Rox (Jaime King).
The trip to Kuching has been great.
"Breakfast time is Hilton time" Yessireee. The breakfast buffet was to drool for. And its the only place of our lodging with a tv.
(currently on real time: "BENJAMIN BARKER!!!" *Sweeney stabs and slashes Judge Turpin's neck. Blood spurts in all directions* Whooo!)
The rest of the days were spent exploring the city. Thats pretty much it. Yup.

Friday, January 02, 2009

Greetings from the land of a 'Truly Asian' experience. More specifically, the 'Cat City' (meowrrr)- Kuching! The first thing we bought once we touched down in Kuching airport, safely brought across from Singapore to Malaysia by SilkAir, was... Golden Tequila! Excited? Yes.
We taxi or, otherwise known in Malaysia as, teksi our way to Permai Rainforest Resort, intending to spend our first night in one of their special treehouses. However, it turned out to be a normal reasonably facilitated hut on reinforced stilts. But at least we're more or less in the trees and its all about the experience eh? What we do for the day: Explore a little, lunching at their cafe, and... KAYAKING!!! With brother at the back, we arm thrusted our way as far from the beach as possible. With alot of difficulty, we beat those damn waves crushing back to land and starting pedaling. From an slightly isolated tree at the tip of the coast to a rock out at open sea. The South China Sea, that is. I got a little sea sick towards the last quarter of our sailing excursion and persuaded my brother to pedal back to shore. He sang 'Row Row Row Your Boat' at this ridiculously monotonous rythym, which didn't helping. When upon having to return our rented kayak, we saw tiny hermit crabs struggling on shore against the waves. It was fun, to see them suffer. Every time being burried under the sand and popping out again. We took some and put it on our kayak before returning the thingamajig. A little thank you present for the guy who works there. Drove out to have seafood. Quite okay. Had to net our own fish from the tank. Well, TRY to net. I drank line juice diluted tequila. Had a bitsy taste of vomit.
Morning, we had breakfast. Woke up to a lie. Dad said it was 10am and the free buffet breakfast ends in half an hour. But when i reached the cafe, it was only 9.40am. My father's sneaky tactics. Before checking out, we do a little mountain trekking. It was fun. Lots of roots, leave, slippery rocks, streams and hideously large ants. We saw a Longtail Macaque.
Our next intended destination of temporal residation- some National Park. Lots of animals- Sunbears, Bear cats, porcupines and Orang Utans! The orangies were cheaky! They saw that we had bananas and stood against the wall, arms reaching out, gesturing to give the fruits to them. We had our little sadistic fun of tempting them. But one of them threw a stick at us! Crazy thing! The long house was disgusting. We saw this huge kiss bug and decided to go straight to the city to stay. Sharing a teksi with this South African Lawyer Lady named Saranne (very 'Tonks'-sey with red spiky hair), she adviced us to spend the night at where i am now. This lushious, tranquil travellers inn called SINGGAHSANA LODGE! (http://www.singgahsana.com/main.html) It was such a shock to us to see such an amazing place. You have t take your shoes before entering. You dont get to wear them anywhere in the premises unless you're leaving. There are clean common bathrooms. Gender seperated, ofcourse. Went around to sight see in the evening and have dinner. Came back comfy with KFC. Very close to Hilton, our next hotel for the night. But i think we're going to find it hard to leave here already.

WELCOME BACK SERENEEE AND WINONAAA!!!
I miss you guys. Especially, (at the moment) Serene, Winona and Si Min!

Bro wants to use facebook.
