Sunday 30th March 2008
Sticks turn to ash,
Smoky prayers.
Redundant?
Woke up at 6.10am for Ching Ming. Went to Mandai Crematorium. Can't say i love doing or believe in all these annual rituals but i gotta respect them cos my father's side is mostly buddhist. At the crematorium, it was raining ash which made it difficult to breathe. Talk about second-hand smoking! The buildings were named after flowers and there were three levels each. The second level was where all the ashes of the deceased, whom were christian, were kept. So it was a joss stick-free! A perfect place to take a breather. The only interesting thing there, besides bumping into Wei Jun (TSS), was the huge outdoor furnace. Haha. It was bleeding hot there. The workers who had to loosen up the burning as to make more room for other stuff to burn had to cover their faces with soaked cloth. Not one of the greatest occupations on Earth. Heh.

Today. 31st March 2008
School was fun today. Ms Manjit lectured us on what a good composition should comprise. She also gave us hilarious samples of the shittiest compos she has read in her teaching life. One of them was about the Life of a Kaurn(?) at Kaurn(?) Country(maybe its Corn) and the other was a ridiculous story of how the writer refused to let the character die unless he was crushed by a tree. Really stupid. She gave everyone a group assignment to write an intro of a composition with the theme 'Misunderstood'. We wanted to tease Tony and Amaryllis (who were the group next to us) so Amanda, Mei Yern, Daniel and I devised a plot about Amaryllis and Tony as karate sparring partners and yada yada yada for our compo. Here's a rough extract: "Amaryllis pounced at Tony with a Super Karate kick. Tony was mesmerised by her well shaved legs that glowed in slow motion. He was so dumbfounded that it was like he invited the kick to his face. He fell with a thud." Haha. Its that stupid! Haha.
After school, Si Min, Jennifer, Jin and I went to Jurong East to check the designs for our class shirts. It took a long while but it was KINDA worth it. we managed to finalise on the design. We just need the votes of 4E1 on the type of shirt they want. The lady said it should cost around or less than $20. :D Hope we get our class shirts done soon. We didn't get to do one last year.

Went to watch WE WILL ROCK YOU! with Serene, Shannon, Winona's Aunts and Roland. Winona couldn't make it. :( The first part of he musical just blew me away. It was fantastically impressive. They sang to the song"Radio Ga Ga". The whole musical was damn awesome! Period! It is my first time watching anything at the Esplanade and the best musical i've seen! I'm encouraging those who are eager to have a good time and experience to go watch it! The student tickets are only at $50 (which is considered cheap) and the seats we got were pretty good.

Went to Holland Village yesterday with Amanda. She wanted to collect her spectacles, I needed a haircut. Amanda showed me this little shop near Crystal Jade called FROLICK. Its this new awesome yogurt shop. Selling solely yoghurts like the way people sell ice-cream (in those little cups), it is seriously really good. The smallest cup costs $3.80 and any additional toppings is a $1 more. But is worth it (i think). They gave this small cool badge which says 'Death By Yoghurt' with a skull with a head that looks like an ice-cream swirl and crossbones. Solid black. Pretty neat. Heh.
Here's their web -> http://www.frolick.com.sg/index.html
The site is still under construction though.
Today's Achievers' Day stretched till 7pm. Urgh. Ms Chng is really stressed about it. Its evident in her screaming.
But i miss being emcees for the previous school events. :( Especially the one with Jue Ying. Haha.
Serene, Winona and I are going to watch WE WILL ROCK YOU! this saturday! :D
Wanna hold a Beowulf sleepover which is right after Achievers' Day till Saturday. Hope people are as keen as I am about wanting to watch Beowulf. Its a cool show!
"Are you the one they call Beowulf? Such a strong man you are. A man like you could own the greatest tale sung. Beowulf... Stay with me. Give me a son, and I shall make you the greatest king that ever lived. This... I swear..." -Grendel's Mother.

Amanda made me update.
Okay. Amanda, Serene, Clement and I are going to be emcees for Achievers' Day. Hope we do well.
Note to Clement: Try not slurr your words.
Note to Amanda: You can DO IT! You're really good! Don't hesitate cos you think you look stupid! Prove the others wrong!
Note to Serene: Like the other teachers are asking, try to sound lively. Haha. But everything else is perfect.
I'm becoming more and more concern about my academic performance and that of other people too. The big Os are approaching. We better start getting serious.
But as the Joker says: "Whysoserious?". Haha. Lets have fun working hard for the Os aswell.
Ms Manjit is a good teacher. I can finally understand what is expected of me and how i should tackle the EL O level papers.
Worried about Literature. I'm losing my ability to understand and visualise the proses and stuff. As Ms Solastri and Jeffrey, who loves to constantly remind me during chinese class, say, my understanding is 'superficial'.
Urgh...

There will be a new The Hulk movie. Not a BIG fan of the Hulk. He/It has always been at the bottom of 'My Favourite Super Heroes' list. The main actor, Christen Bale, has been changed to Edward Norton (Fight Club). Liv Tyler (Armageddon) will also be starring in this new epic and there will be a new baddie. Saw the trailer and can't say i'm very impressed. Its just good CGI but i think this sequel is going to have a very straight forward storyline. As Serene says, nowadays movies are lacking in plot and its action doesn't necessarily make up for it. She's a more intense movie geek than i am, so you gotta trust her judgement. But its sometimes good to stick with your personal taste.
Photos at http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_incredible_hulk/gallery.php?page=20 . The trailer can also be found there. Just navigate your way around the site. It can't be too difficult. NOTE: I'd prefer you to keep an eye out for the word 'Trailers' and click it. It WILL help alot in your search for the movie trailer at that site. Haha.
They should also get the Hulk to advertise for those 'Clean and Green' Campaigns. It'll be a poster with the Hulk and a speech bubble hovering above it containing: 'You no recycle, I CRUSH YOU!' Heh.

I realise my font size varies most of the time i publish. Its not intentional (she's doing her best. Haha) and its annoying.

GET READY FOR THE INDIE REVOLUTION!
Local Bands like West Grand Boulevard and Armchair Critics are getting better and popular.
Here's a fact for ya: Did you know that Edrik Jon's older brother is the guitarist for WGB?
Isn't it COOL!
Who knew that Singapore had a chance to tackle the music industry!? Well maybe not just yet but in the near future, I see our local bands (SOME of our local bands) going INTERNATIONAL! JUST LIKE ACS! HAHA!
Here's a vid of WGB performing "Flights of Fancy".
Quality of the vid en't that good. But I still like the song!

Just realised that my blog is CLOSE to 2 years old now. I know its pretty adolescent compared to other blogs but its the longest thing i've been dedicated to ever. Which obviously means i have a short attention span. Heh. Oh shit. Nostalgia is kicking in. Ending th post here.

Stretch out your legs for the March Holidays baby! Its already a stressful year (more than the previous) and relaxation doesn't come quite often. BUT, the fun is ruined by the truck-load of homework! We have to do 3 units of Chemistry TYS! *wheezing*
Tomorrow's Monday. Jeffrey is coming over. I hardly hang out with the guy anymore ever since the change of classes. Tuesday is going to be a rush in the evening. Have to head down to GV Marina in 15 minutes after my Chemistry Caraven Tuition to watch the Gala Premiere of Spiderwick! WOOHOO! Thanks Serene! :D Wednesday is jammed pack. Combined Humanities FOCUS  in the morning, followed by tuition. SC BBQ in the evening and then my sleepover. Considering if i should skip the BBQ to time with my 'sleepmates'. Heh. But its SC! AND a BBQ! AND tons of FOOD!
Thats the latest update of half of my March Holiday weeks activites. Gotta do the Holiday assignments during my spare time. Rushing to complete them on Sunday evening seems pretty tempting. But as dictates the Teenage Aries Horoscope- my work should not be done last minute. I don't believe in these stuff but HEY! My parents say that too! Haha. So yea...
Happy March Holidays peeps!
