Met Jessie today. She brought me to the Daily Scoop and then we walked at the train tracks at Sunset Way. Bad idea to wear slippers, but you'll survive. It was quite scary cos you can't walk on the wood planks cos they're rotting and I didn't trust the rusting metal bridge to keep me safe from plummeting to my doom. But like a bridge, it served its purpose. We then reached Clementi before taking the bus to my place. Attempted to watch Monty Python's Holy Grail, apparently a cult favourite, but it was boring hell. Cheesy boring jokes. Oh well.
I worked. I can't disclose much infomation. However, it was quite an unforgettable experience. I need to learn to interact with strangers. I think this may be a one time thing. But hell yeah would i want to try it again. Until i get bored.

Today's the eve of the last day of 2008.
Tomorrow's the class countdown. I hope it turns out well.
The day after tomorrow is when I go to East Malaysia and also when Serene finally returns home after her month long Europe back-packing trip.

Aren't the other two good lookin'? Haha. Random.
Gelato fantastico! Amanda treated the gelato. :/
I love the t shirt! Thanks Amanda!
Screwed up looking Joshua. Haha. :)
Octopussy and distracted Amanda. Joshua treated Starbucks. :/

'Practice' at Jenn's turned out to be a movie screening of The Golden Compass. She hasn't seen it yet, but not anymore. I lent her Hairspray. She hasn't seen it either. She's been living in an ivory tower. Haha. I managed to also try her keyboard out. Pretty fun. Managed to play the distinct tune of Bella's Lullaby. Well, CLOSE ENOUGH. Heh.
We didn't go see Naimah. :/ Cos it was kinda late and...
I had a prior arrangement to have dinner with Joshua and Amanda. (Photos above) It was fun. Sushi Tei food was kinda good. Nice fried eel things, wasted green peas. Cow shit (keychain) presents! :P Hide and Seek at Holland V. (Not really). Treats at Gelato Swensens (cookies cheesecake gelato) and Starbucks (they're lovely signature hot chocolate). I feel bad cos i didn't treat anything. But i will, soon enough. Drank orange juice diluted vodka! First time! Thanks to her cool Mum. But i dont think i'm that good at handling my alcohol. I drank only a glass though.
Thanks again Jenn, again! For the Speed Racer DVD and letting me come over and lending me the Twilight OST. Notice the change in song? :D
Thanks Amanda! For the great presents- Joker shirt, cow shit keychain and Rudy the crossed dressed Reindeer Bear! Heh.
Thanks Joshua, for being you!

the INTERESTING thoughts of EDWARD MONKTON
This guy's a genius.

Like most other christians who celebrate Christmas, they begin the day at church.
I haven't been there in a long while, to be honest. But it really helps to complete the true spirit of Christmas. Its not just about presents and a make-believe-spare-tired-bearded-man-dressed in red who breaks into your home through the chimney, but the true origins of this heavily commercialised day is the birth of Jesus Christ, Son of God, Emmanuel, Prince of Peace and what have you. I sat humbly at church with my mother, younger brother, sister and Joseph to sing praises to the lord and hear people preach his word through song and sermon. I day-dreamed a lot during the sermon. Heh. But i got the overall message.
I'm driven to Vivo in the ugly monstrous family goods van to meet Jenn. It took me sometime cos we were playing hide and seek in Daiso. I spotted her mum first before i met up with her. Haha. Then Nicholas, Jon, Jac and Clement catch up with us to watch The Journey to the Centre of the Earth 3D. I refused to watch Yes Man. Refused. The movie was cool with all the in your face 3D pop-ups. The movie itself was reasonably fun to watch.
With the movie done, mindless window shopping was next on the list. But it didn't take long for boredom to settle in once again. So we decide to go to Raffles Place. City Link mall. But WRONG! City Link mall is at City Hall. Act smart la Jon? Haha. My intention was to go to HMV to check out stuff even if it takes me to drag my friends around. :P Jac and Jenn wanted Santa hats! Haha.
I take the train to my Grands, which pretty much completes the circle to my happy christmas. :)
Dinner is at home with the family, minus older brother. Ordinary dinner. But i managed to force my family to watch the beginning of Speed Racer. :D

Jaclynn! Thanks for the candies mate!
Jennifer! Thank you very much for the Speed Racer DVD!!! :D

Christmas is almost over. But the spirit of giving will linger a little longer.

So its Christmas Eve. The more exciting things that happened today was
1) I've finally met up with Jessie after so long.
2) We did the YV scrap book. It was fun.
3) [TOP SECRET]
4) I ran back home in the rain. It felt so awesome.
Now i have a cold. Haha. Merry Christmas Eve! :D
I'm really no where with my Christmas shopping. Urgh. I'm lacking the financial power. But i'm not deterred! I'll start with 'em Christmas Cards first.
Christmas spirit is dying in me. I've been missing that fuzzy warm christmasy feeling for years now. Maybe cos i'm growing older.
2 more hours till the real thing. It seems like just another day. :/

Cousin Martin besid me with his wife, child, mum and grandma. Oh and there's Dad.
Instant noodles that looked great on the tv and i just had to try it! It was okay. Bought some home. Lots of flavour.
See that spec in the top rigt corner? Thats actually the sun! It looks like a perfect round orange ball hung in the sky cos of all the pollution in the air that filters its rays to a perfect sphere.
Parakeets? Haha. The last hotel i went to had them. :D
You have to try it! I went to the KFC and they sold these warm egg tarts oozing with passion fruit juice and bits. I want more! But this tarts from heaven are only sold in China.

Something like Hotel 626 just slightly more cheery.

Thats all the pics from China folks!

A mini padifield (?) in your own backyard.
Weirdly tightly packed.
You see a lot of them in the village areas, along with the droppings all over the place.
Window picture to XiaMen. I know i wasn't suppose to have my handphone switched on but nothing happened. Only a little turbulence.

I'll post more photos of China next time.

This is a bad photo. Amanda's flying off to the land of the roos. She wont be around for Christmas. So guys, you won't see Santa this year cos he's on holiday. ;D Will miss you Muaves!
 Have a fun safe trip!

Whooo Prom Night! :)
West Coast Park with idiots. :D

Yesterday
-Was the last day of attachments. It also means Christmas Party! However, it ended up more like we were performing for ourselves. Fortunately enough, the clients seemed to enjoy the BINGO segment in our party. So i'll count it as a success. YV dance was fun. GREASED LIGHTNING!
-Nich's dance performance at Ngee Ann, which i managed to make it on the dot. "DANZATION". It was quite cool. People coming together with a common interest- hip-hop and all sorts of other street dancing. "Look like Banana," (most of them were dressed yellow) and "Look like those working at QB house," (they were wearing vests) Alvin comments on the dance costumes. Heh. We went to Macs after where i discovered two things.
1) The Video Ezy at King Albert Park opens till 12am.
2) I missed my last bus, 61.

Today:
-Caroling! Woke up late, my trend of the late, so Alvin came over and together we went to Aljunied. We meet Henry Lau.
See also: Hui Xin.
See also: Clement.
See also: Lewis.
See also: iforgothername.
The caroling session was at a Geylang Elderly Daycare Centre. Very close to the one i had attachment at. It went quite smoothly, considering the fact that i didn't know half of the songs on list. We made acquaintances with Edward.
See also: Henry.
See also: Jun Liang.
See also: crap i kinda forgot.
Cine-Majulah Dinner! It was at The Cathay. But we met at Plaza Sing. Eunice was late. Tsk tsk tsk. Saw Utt there. We intended to dine at Aston Specialities, The Cathay. But its known for its fine dining affordable prices, so there was a frigging long queue. We try the 99cents sushi cafe but there was a queue as well. So we settle for an ala carte dinner next to the lifeless basement fountain. It was really funny. Cos Jian Qing, Hui Xin, Pei Jin and I had chinese names so Ewwwnice (who wanted to be nicknamed 'Ice' cos she thought it was cool but was easily ignored. Heh. :D) Gave PJ 'Tom', me 'Dick' and Jian Qing 'Harry'. Haha. Hui Xin was named Shaymin, after her beloved dog-like pokemon. They say i have the face with my name starting with 'D'. Which hence explains the name suggestions 'David', 'Dick', and 'Damien'. Lol. We stroll around PS. World of Sports, Spotlight, Comics Connection, Star Factory. We had this hilarious joke that 'Dick' would get married to 'Virginia'. Haha! Had a really fun time with the peeps. I meet up with Clement and Alvin, who tagged along there but went on their own while we were having our group dinner, at Best Denki. We go home together. Awesomeness.

Tomorrow:
-First Combined Practice i'm attending. Its at 10am. Let's hope i wake up.
-I want to sleepover at Grands! I haven't seen them in ages!

Back from our class's attempt of a Christmas outing.
I would say it went quite smoothly.
Even though the strength was less than 15, i guess it makes it a lot easier to bond.
The others couldn't make it cos they have other prior commitments and etc.
Jaclynn, Jia Ying, Yu Duan, Gina, Yamunna, Pearle, Jasmine, Si Min, Jennifer, Wei Zhong, Wei Xun, Wei Kai, Clement, Alvin, and I. (did i miss out anyone?)
Present swap was kinda cool. I got Nicholas's gift. Its the Chip & Dale plushie. Not sure if its either Chip or Dale.Quite big and squishy. Heh. Thanks Nich!
Watched 9.20pm Twilight.
As usual, GV Vivo is notorious for its selling fast time slots. Maybe its cos its a school holiday.
See also: After peak hours.
See also: Few time slots available.
It was a surprisingly enjoyable movie. Very cool. I have to admit, i had a tiny ounce of doubt in me thinking i'll probably be disappointed of not getting my $8.50's worth. But HEY, it impressed me. I heard the sequel, New Moon(?), will be directed by Chris Weitz(?), The Golden Compass director. Hmmm. I think he could've done alot better with TGC, hope New Moon won't suffer the same choppy fate. It'll be a pity if it does, cos Twilight was good.
I'm glad that i got to go out with the peeps after so long. Even though its enough, it leaves you hungry for more. Heh.

I'll blog about China some other time.
It's 1.19am, there's our Christmas Party at BWell later at 9am. I hope i won't be late.
Joshua's at camp at going on holiday shortly after.
Amanda's flying to Perth this Monday midnight.
Neil's away in Malaysia coming back Monday.
NickY in Cambodia, coming back monday i think.
Serene will be back January.
Where are you guys man?

Tons of stars. Its magic.

Visiting Jenn at The Women's and Children's Hospital (or something like that). Hope you feel better always Jenn.
Nicky Yeo's Japan Pressies! I got the rabbit horse tone in the end. Thanks Nicky! He's in Cambodia now.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLEMENT (yesterday)!!! Cake that Nicky found in his fridge. Haha. Part of his dad's golf cake.
Clement snuffs out his burning wooden skewer candles. Nicky's reinvention of the candle. Haha.
Tip coated with cooking oil for flame durability.
Note the pink party hat on the postbox. We found it at Nicky's condo while we were trying to find his house. How coincidental.

Clement! I know the celebration wasn't much, but i hope it stays in your head as a tragic comedy of a birthday celebration. Haha.
Star Wars Force Unleashed is damn awesome. Played it on Neil's Matte Bronze PSP. Effing fun! Haha. Fuzzy waves of the force being blasted in all directions. The main character is so force-filled! Heh. But Neil left for Malaysia already. 10 days. Thats such a long time.
Attachments at BWell Elderly Day Care Centre is a really fulfilling experience, even though it eats 2 weeks of weekday's time. YVIP, it's something you don't regret joining.
China: tomorrow.

YVIP'08
It's a 4D3N experience of a lifetime!
Apart from the awesome fun-filled games, groovy dances, catchy songs, you learn essential skills and attain a love for volunteering.
My TF (Pei Jin) and group mates (Joanne, Hui Xin and Lynette) are great! Go Group 13! Go Majulah!
Highlights of the events:
Disability Lunch- You're paired up with someone. That person is blindfolded and your hands are tied up. Since you can't use your hands you have to carefully instruct your partner, who is blind, to feed you and themselves. You switch disabilities later.
Disability Challenge- Each group mate adopts a different disability or two. I was blind. Urgh. With the help of dropping 50 cent coins, cotton wool, tape and plastic sunglasses. Hui Xin had to sit in the wheel chair throughout the journey. Joanne was suppose to pretend to be mute and deaf. Now all we have to do now is start from TKSS (Eunos) and trek around Orchard completing tasks. Its quite scary being blind, having to depend on my team mates to be my eyes. At Taka, i was sitting down with Hui Xin. Cos you can't see much, you tend to close your eyes. And then i just snoozed off. Haha. Another group's blind guy, Suraine(?), caught me sleeping cos my head was hanging over and i was nodding. Heh. We managed to complete all the compulsory task. Even the one where i have to ask for assistance to find 'Uni Tofu Dessert' from the public by myself. I was saying "Excuse me. Hello is anyone there?" To mid air, hoping someone nice wont ignore me and give me a hand. Haha. I managed to get help from this nice lady, not sure how she looks, and the closest thing we found was this beancurd tofu dessert thing. PJ said it counts cos he just wanted all of us to have the experience. But i knocked into things a couple of times. Wheelchairs, side of walls and even the elevator door! Apparently the door hadn't open yet and i just walked into it. Ouch.

But overall, the camp was worth attending. No regrets, much was learnt. And i'm looking forward to the 2 week Attachment at BWell Elderly Daycare Centre. I'm even considering adding nursing into my list of future proffesions after the Elderly Workshop during the camp.
