Alrighty!
We're finally into the New Year, so believed by us Chinese folk. The Chinese New Year. The time of year where all things red are good and if you go dark and dull you'll probably be dubbed as inauspicious.
Other ways to lure in good fortune is Spring Cleaning! (But its always summer in Singapore.) I tried my best to clear my unbelievably cluttered table. Being only half complete with no more time left cos we're already in to the C new year. So I cheat, and leave the rest for tomorrow. I mean today. Later today. But you always go visiting on Chu Yi (first day of the chinese new year), so i can predict a very angry traditional Dad dragging me awake to finish the rest of the mess i've caused on my table. URGH. There's just so much garbage. Pieces of paper and useless notes. Text books i don't even know what to do with. Sentimental stuff i don't quite have space for and not sure if I should keep them even thought they bring me back to such good memories.
I'm also going to try to hold a visitation for my friends. But it's probably going to turn out more hang out-ish, just with the good ol' tea and mandarin oranges and snacks.
Ang baos aside, i'll be going red from frustration this chinese new year. But i guess thats pretty auspicious too.
